NDU students train pwd
NDU graduate students prepared a training session for people with disabilities within the arcenciel network, regarding integration into the Lebanese workforce. The training focused on the skills and attitude needed to land a job, and the correct way to prepare a CV. Students did this as a project for a human resources class and the desire to be engaged in their community. The training was held in NDU classrooms on Wednesday the 9th and 16th of January from 5:30 till 8pm.
The training session covered many important facts that deal with the work force in Lebanon. From how to write a CV, to how to behave at a job interview, they also discussed different CV templates and mentioned the skills one should carry along to an interview such as positive body language, assertiveness and proper communication. There was also a role playing session where topics such as a candidate’s role and expectations during and after an interview, equal employment opportunity, and Lebanese labor law were covered.
In the end, there was an evaluation of the training session done by both trainers and trainees. This is a great achievement because students are becoming involved and aware of their importance in social growth and development, and they are doing so side by side with arcenciel. Let’s all participate in development!
